EWA DZIARNOWSKA

 

For Berlin Art Week, Display invited the dancer Ewa Dziarnowska to perform in a solo format. Ewa Dziarnowska let herself be informed by her studio dispositive and improvisation practice. Raw, impulsive, sharp, sometimes elusive, her movements reduce to essential dance gestures. The corporeal experience, devoid of any narrative tension, seeking into the deepest bodily memories and non-rational knowledge is translated into space. “You follow the rule: the secret to effect lies in affect. “ 

Ewa Dziarnowska  (PL) born in 1991, graduate of Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance (SEAD) 2010 – 2014 and BA “Dance, Context, Choreography” at HZT Berlin 2014 – 2017, danceWEB Scholarship recipient 2015, tanzquartier Vienna scholarship recipient 2014 – 2015. Her own works include: #danceporn (2019), pearls before swine (2018), GOO (2018), form that accommodates mess (2017), carte rouge (2016), immediate sketch (2014). As a performer, Ewa has worked with Simone Forti (Dance Constructions 2014), Doris Uhlich (more than naked 2014, Boom Bodies 2016), Tino Sehgal (Kiss 2015), Julian Weber (All inclusive 2016), Alistair Watts (L dance 2017), Ula Sickle (Free Gestures 2018), Aaron Ratajczyk (Bless This Place 2018), Alex Baczyński-Jenkins (Until a Thousand Roses Bloom [with Warsaw in the Background] 2018, Untitled. [Holding Horizon] 2018, Untitled dances 2019), Reza Mirabi (purpose NEXT, 2018), Zander Porter (ADHD Penetration 2018), Isabelle Schad (Reflection 2019), Alice Chauchat (Ensembling 2019), Sheena McGrandles (Flush 2020).
